Daniel Thomas has been at the heart of Blackburn & Darwen Band for a number of years, leading with passion, professionalism, and a clear musical vision. His commitment to developing both the sound and spirit of the band has been a driving force behind our continued growth and success.

A graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, Daniel is an experienced conductor and accomplished euphonium player. Before taking up the baton full-time, he enjoyed a successful performing career that included time with some of the UK’s top brass bands, notably Brighouse & Rastrick.

​

Under Daniel’s direction, Blackburn & Darwen Band has gone from strength to strength — achieving contest successes, delivering memorable concert performances, and fostering a welcoming and ambitious environment for all members.

Daniel’s approach to music-making is rooted in teamwork, attention to detail, and a deep love of the brass band tradition. His leadership continues to inspire both seasoned players and the next generation of musicians.
