Wet and windy in Darwen!

Well that's it again for this year, another great contest although this time the sun forgot to shine! The Mayor, Roy Davies commented on how professional everyone was and carried on despite the rain. Thanks to Darwen Town Council once again for supporting such a great event and thanks also to all members of Blackburn & Darwen Band who did a sterling job in running a very well organised contest.

Congratulations to all our prize winners chosen by our adjudicator Nick Garman.

Overall Champions - Ashton Band winning £700.

Runners Up - Marsden Silver Prize Band winning £400.

3rd Place - Eccleston Band winning £300.

Best 2nd Section Band - Horwich RMI winning £250.

2nd Section Runners Up - Besses Boys winning £150.

Best 3rd Section Band awarded to Greenalls winning £250 as Eccleston Band won a top 3 placing.

Runners up 3rd Section - Hawk Green winning £150.

Best 4th Section Band - Brindle winning £250.

Runners up 4th Section - Lostock winning £150.

Best Soloist - Andy Pullin, principal cornet of Eccleston

Youngest Player - Poppy Abbot (12) from Brindle Band.

Thanks to all the bands for supporting our event and to everyone who braved the weather and came to listen. Thanks to CSMA group for the kind loan of their trailer for our adjudicator today.
