North West Area Preview Concert – A Night of Top-Class Brass

Brass band fans are invited to a special evening of music as three North West bands present a preview concert ahead of the North West Area Contest, taking place on 1st March at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

The concert will be held on Saturday 21st February at AKS Lytham, with a 7.00pm start, and offers a great opportunity to hear each band perform their selected Area test pieces in a relaxed and friendly concert setting.

🎺 Freckleton Band – Championship Section Elgar Variations – Martin Ellerby

🎺 Blackburn & Darwen Band – First Section Variations on ‘Was Lebet’ – Andrew Wainwright

🎺 Morecambe Band – Second Section 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea – Philip Harper

Each performance will give audiences a fascinating insight into the music that will be heard on the contest stage just a week later, showcasing the hard work, musical detail, and character required for success at Area level.
